Macao's food is a unique East-West fusion. The famous treat is the Macanese egg tart (a pastel de nata with a caramelised top), bought warm. But Macanese cuisine — a centuries-old blend of Portuguese, Chinese, African, Indian and Malay — is the real treasure: minchi (minced meat with potato over rice), galinha à africana (spicy African chicken), bacalhau (salt cod) dishes, the beloved pork-chop bun, and serradura ("sawdust") pudding.
