The Friday Mosque of Isfahan is one of the most important monuments in the Islamic world, a vast complex built and rebuilt over twelve centuries that traces the entire evolution of Persian mosque design. Its four soaring iwans, brick domes of astonishing engineering and intricate tilework make it an essential and awe-inspiring counterpart to Isfahan's famous square.
