About Petra

Hidden in the mountains of southern Jordan, Petra was the caravan capital of the Nabataeans, who sculpted grand temples and tombs directly into rose-coloured sandstone. The approach through the narrow Siq gorge, opening onto the towering facade of the Treasury, is one of travel's most breathtaking moments. Beyond lie tombs, a monastery and endless canyon trails.
