The Calgary Stampede, billed as 'The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,' runs July 9-18, 2027 at Stampede Park in Calgary. The ten-day Western heritage festival features professional rodeo competition, the Rangeland Derby chuckwagon races, a grandstand show, agricultural exhibits, live concerts and a large midway. It opens with a downtown parade and draws over a million visitors, with the city embracing cowboy hats and Western dress throughout.

How to get there

Fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC), about 17 km northeast of downtown. The venue is Stampede Park, just south of the city core. Take the CTrain light rail (Red Line 201) to Victoria Park/Stampede station or Erlton/Stampede, both of which drop you at the gates. From the airport, city bus route 300 (BRT) connects to downtown in about 45 minutes, where you transfer to the CTrain. During Stampede, trains run frequently and are free within the downtown fare-free zone.
