<p>Andros is known across the Bahamas as 'the Land of Crabs', and each June its land-crab harvest is celebrated at the All Andros Crab Fest in Fresh Creek. Hundreds of crabs are cooked every way the island knows — crab and rice, crab soup, baked crab, stewed crab — alongside conch, fresh fish and plenty of Kalik.</p><p>Beyond the food there is live rake-and-scrape and Junkanoo, craft stalls, and the crowd-pleasing crab races. It is one of the biggest events on the Andros calendar and a genuine taste of Family Island life. It usually falls on the second weekend of June; confirm the exact 2026 dates locally.</p>
