The 2026 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix runs 24–26 July at the Hungaroring near Budapest — three days of practice, qualifying and a Sunday race.
The **Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix** is one of the calendar's enduring summer fixtures, held at the **Hungaroring** in Mogyoród, roughly 20 kilometres northeast of central Budapest. Tight, twisting and short on long straights, the circuit has a reputation for making overtaking hard and races unpredictable, and its natural amphitheatre gives grandstand crowds long sightlines across the infield. Combined with an easy city break in Budapest, it is a popular weekend for travelling fans.
## What to expect
The 2026 event runs across a **three-day weekend, 24–26 July**: practice sessions build through Friday, qualifying sets the grid on Saturday, and the Grand Prix itself is run on Sunday, alongside support races and fan activities around the venue. Ticket options span general admission on the grassy banks — long considered some of the better value on the F1 calendar — through to reserved grandstand seats with covered views of the start-finish straight and key corners.
Base yourself in Budapest and allow extra travel time on race day; the Hungaroring is reached by a combination of metro and shuttle or road transfers, and crowds are heaviest for the Sunday afternoon race.

Where it happens
How to get there
The Hungarian Grand Prix runs at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, about 20 km northeast of central Budapest. Fly into Budapest Ferenc Liszt International (BUD), roughly 25 km south of the circuit. There's no station at the track itself, so most fans take metro line M2 (red) to Örs vezér tere, then a dedicated race-day shuttle bus or a suburban HÉV train toward Gödöllő, alighting at Szilasliget and walking the rest. Allow well over an hour and expect long queues after the race. Driving is possible but parking fields fill early and exit traffic is slow, so public transport plus the shuttle is the smoother option.
