The snow centre
Bosques de Monterreal is a high mountain resort in the Sierra de Arteaga in south-eastern Coahuila, best known for having Mexico's only commercial ski slope. Rather than relying on snow, the main run is surfaced with a wetted plastic matting so it can be skied all year, backed by a drag lift and a gentle beginner area with a conveyor lift. The slope is short and easy, roughly a blue-grade pitch, and the whole thing is as much a novelty and family outing as a serious ski experience. The wider resort wraps in Alpine-style chalets, one of Mexico's highest golf courses and outdoor activities, sitting high enough that natural snow occasionally dusts the slopes in winter. It is best understood as an artificial-surface centre, not a snow resort.

How to get there
Monterrey is the nearest major international gateway, with Saltillo closer still; the resort is a mountain drive from both.
A drive up into the Sierra de Arteaga, roughly forty minutes from Saltillo and around ninety from Monterrey.
