Set on the broad, sun-catching Oberjoch pass high above the spa village of Bad Hindelang, this is one of the Allgäu's most family-friendly ski areas. The terrain is gentle and open, a plateau of wide, sunny pistes that flatter beginners and cruising intermediates and lend themselves to unhurried days out. Its comparatively high, exposed position helps hold snow better than many low German areas, and the whole experience is wrapped in traditional Bavarian warmth. Pair the easy slopes with Bad Hindelang's spa-village comforts below and it becomes a relaxed, wholesome base rather than a challenge-seeker's mountain.
