Après & vibe

The park has cafes and family facilities, and the surrounding São Roque wine-and-countryside region makes an easy add-on.

The snow centre

Ski Mountain Park is an artificial-surface ski and snowboard centre set in the wooded hills around São Roque, roughly an hour from the city of São Paulo. There is no natural snow here: the runs are laid with imported polyethylene matting that skis and rides like snow when watered, letting the slopes stay open all year in a subtropical climate. It bills itself as Latin America's largest artificial mountain-entertainment complex, pairing a longer main descent with a short beginner run and a toboggan track. Beyond the pistes it works as a full day-out park, with mountain biking, archery, tree climbing and forest trails for non-skiers. Expect a relaxed, novelty-first atmosphere aimed at Brazilian families and first-timers rather than committed alpine skiers.

The slope

Beginners

A short, gentle learner run and on-site instruction make it geared to first-timers.

Intermediates

The longer main slope offers a modest step up for those finding their feet.

Advanced

Terrain is limited; keen skiers will find it brief.

Experts & off-piste

Not built for experts, being a compact artificial park.

Skiing under the Brazilian sun

The novelty of carving a synthetic piste in subtropical São Paulo state, warm weather and Atlantic Forest all around.
