New York City city guide

The city that never sleeps

New York City is the USA at full volume — five boroughs of skyscrapers, world-class museums, Broadway theatre, endless food and a walkable, subway-stitched density found nowhere else in the country. It's the classic first stop for a US trip and rewards return visits for a lifetime.

Region: Northeast Best time: Apr–Jun and Sep–Nov for mild weather; December for holiday lights (cold); July–Aug is hot and humid Getting there: JFK and Newark (EWR) handle most international flights; LaGuardia (LGA) is domestic. AirTrain + subway or rail reaches Manhattan in ~45–60 min. Getting around: The 24/7 subway is fastest and cheapest; Manhattan is very walkable. Skip a car — parking is punishing.
