About Patmos

On the Greek island of Pátmos, the whitewashed town of Chorá clusters around the fortress-like Monastery of St John the Theologian. Below it lies the Cave of the Apocalypse, where tradition holds that St John received the visions of the Book of Revelation. A place of deep pilgrimage and Aegean beauty, it feels timeless and serene.

Patmos is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site — The Historic Centre (Chorá) with the Monastery of Saint-John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse on the Island of Pátmos — inscribed in 1999.
