About Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is the blue city — every alleyway, doorway and staircase in its medina is painted in shades of indigo, cobalt and aquamarine, creating the most Instagram-famous streetscape in Morocco. The city sits in a valley of the Rif Mountains, with excellent hiking above town to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint. The pace is slower than Marrakech or Fes, and the crafts — woven blankets, leather babouches, silver jewellery — excellent.
