About Vegaøyan – The Vega Archipelago

Just south of the Arctic Circle, the Vega Archipelago is a scatter of skerries and islets whose people built a unique way of life around the eiderdown harvest — sheltering wild eider ducks in tiny houses in exchange for their prized down. It is a serene seascape of fishing hamlets, lighthouses and vast birdlife, honouring the quiet partnership of humans and nature.
