About Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park

Established in 1958, the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park was the first marine protected area of its kind in the Caribbean and later became a no-take reserve, where nothing may be removed — a policy credited with restocking fish and conch across the wider Exumas. Managed by the Bahamas National Trust from its headquarters at Warderick Wells, the park's uninhabited cays, coral reefs, blue holes and iguana colonies are a highlight of any Exuma sailing or boating trip, with mooring buoys for visiting yachts.
