<p>The Nærøyfjord is a slender arm of the Sognefjord so narrow and steep — barely a few hundred metres wide in places, under walls rising well over a thousand metres — that it is listed, with the Geirangerfjord, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Waterfalls, cliff-farms and tiny hamlets line its shores, and the quiet electric cruise between Flåm and Gudvangen through it is the boat leg of the classic 'Norway in a Nutshell' journey and one of the most beautiful fjord trips in the world.</p>
