How to get there
The gateway is Bergen (BGO) on the west coast, from which Myrkdalen is a drive of roughly one and a half to two hours inland via the Voss area.
Nearby Voss sits on the Bergen railway, so a train to Voss followed by a short onward transfer offers a largely car-free route.
From Bergen most visitors self-drive or take a pre-booked transfer up towards Voss and on to the valley; the roads are good but subject to winter conditions.
