A short, spectacular coastal highway island-hopping on causeways and bridges — its curving Storseisundet Bridge appears to launch straight into the sea.

About The Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien)

The Atlantic Road (Atlanterhavsveien) is a short, spectacular stretch of coastal highway that hops between low islands and skerries on a chain of causeways and bridges on Norway's northwest coast, between Molde and Kristiansund. Its centrepiece is the Storseisundet Bridge, which curves and rises so sharply that from some angles it appears to launch into the sea. Lashed by Atlantic storms in autumn and serene in calm weather, it is one of the country's great drives and a Norwegian Scenic Route.
