The Fram Museum

<p>The Fram Museum on Bygdøy is built around the Fram itself — the wooden polar ship that carried Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen on the great Norwegian expeditions, and the vessel that has sailed both farther north and farther south than any other. Visitors board the preserved ship and explore its cabins and holds, amid displays on polar exploration, survival and the men and dogs who made it. A second hall holds the polar ship Gjøa, first to sail the Northwest Passage. It is one of Bygdøy's most popular museums.</p>
