Hardangerfjord

<p>The Hardangerfjord, reaching inland from the coast south of Bergen, is Norway's second-longest fjord and its orchard country — hillsides of apple and cherry blossom in spring, waterfalls like the mighty Vøringsfossen tumbling from the plateau above, and the Folgefonna glacier on its flank. Gentler and greener than the sheer western fjords, it is known for the springtime bloom, its cider-making, and the cliff-edge Trolltunga hike from its inner reaches. Bergen is the usual gateway.</p>
