The snow centre
Jermuk is far better known as a mineral-water spa town than as a ski destination, and the skiing here is modest: a single chairlift climbs the wooded slopes above the resort, feeding a short run or two used mainly by locals and spa guests looking for a few hours on the snow. It is a genuine mountain setting high on the southern Armenian plateau, not an indoor or artificial venue, and the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. The town's real draw is its thermal waters, waterfall and mineral-water gallery, with the lift doubling as a summer sightseeing ride. It suits curious travellers, wellness visitors and beginners rather than committed skiers. Snow cover is seasonal and can be thin, so the ski offering is best treated as a pleasant bonus to a spa stay.
