Après & vibe

As a developing resort its base facilities are still growing; the wider draw is the remote mountain setting and North Ossetian hospitality.

The snow centre

Mamison is an emerging mountain ski resort set deep in the high Caucasus of North Ossetia-Alania, part of a wider push to develop the North Caucasus as a winter-sports region. Sitting at genuine alpine altitude, well above 2,000 metres, it occupies dramatic, snowy terrain in a remote former valley long known for its mineral springs and mountain villages. As a young resort it is still building out its lifts and pistes, so it appeals to early-adopter skiers and those drawn to big, wild Caucasian scenery rather than to a polished, established scene. The high elevation promises a long, cold season once infrastructure matures. It is best understood as a promising newcomer in one of Russia's most spectacular mountain regions.
