About Domica Cave
Domica is the best-known cave of the Slovak Karst National Park in southern Slovakia, and it belongs to the UNESCO site shared with Hungary. Guided short tours take you through chambers of flowstone shields and drums, with archaeological finds from prehistoric times and bats that use the cave. It is cool and damp underground, so bring a jumper and shoes with grip.
Tours run to set times with no advance booking, and the schedule varies by month, so check the Slovak Caves Administration page for the day you want. The Karst plateau above is good walking country, and Domica pairs well with a visit to nearby caves such as Jasov. This is the right stop for a rainy day or a cooler break from summer heat.
