The snow centre
The ski slopes above Kruševo sit on Bušava Mountain beside one of North Macedonia's most characterful towns, celebrated as the highest in the Balkans. This is a small, genuine outdoor area rather than a full resort, with a couple of short pistes and simple lifts on gentle terrain that make it a relaxed choice for beginners, children and locals. It lacks the scale and crowds of North Macedonia's larger areas such as Popova Šapka, and that quiet is part of its appeal. Snow is natural and the mountain-town winter runs from late autumn into spring, though cover varies year to year. Many visitors come as much for Kruševo's revolutionary history, distinctive architecture and paragliding reputation as for the skiing.
