Après & vibe
Modern on-resort hotels and dining provide the social side, with hot-pot and regional north-eastern cuisine a warming staple after cold days on the snow.
The resort
Rising in the wooded hills near Tonghua in southern Jilin, Wanfeng Tonghua is one of the newer, larger developments in a region with a long skiing pedigree — Tonghua has historic ties to the early days of the sport in China. The bitterly cold, dry winters of the country's north-east deliver light, powdery snow across pistes that thread through birch and pine, and the resort pairs its slopes with contemporary hotel and leisure facilities. It caters mainly to families and improving skiers, offering a comfortable, well-equipped introduction to skiing in China's snowy north rather than steep, big-mountain terrain.
