The resort
Part of the sprawling Daemyung resort complex in Hongcheon, Vivaldi Park is one of the most popular ski destinations within easy reach of Seoul and trades on energy and entertainment as much as on the skiing itself. The slopes are compact and mostly beginner-to-intermediate, groomed and floodlit for the marathon night sessions that draw crowds of young city skiers. Natural snow is light, so the season is short and reliant on snowmaking during the cold mid-winter months. Beyond the pistes, the complex bundles hotels, dining, an indoor snow attraction and the adjoining Ocean World waterpark, making it a weekend-break package rather than a pure ski hill. It suits sociable groups and beginners after a fun, accessible outing over serious mountain terrain.
