Formula 1's night race runs through Marina Bay on 8–10 October 2027, with MRT stations beside the gates and many hotels within walking distance.
The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is the sport's original night race, run under floodlights on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, a temporary track through the city's financial and entertainment district. formula1.com lists the 2027 race as Round 18, from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 October 2027.
It's a conventional weekend in 2027: formula1.com shows Practice 1 and 2 on Friday, Practice 3 and Qualifying on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday, with session times still TBC. The promoter's entertainment programme of concerts and fan zones runs alongside the racing; at the 2026 edition this included stages across several zones of the circuit park.
The 4.927 km lap passes beneath illuminated skyscrapers, across bridges and through tunnels, and since a 2023 layout change it has 19 corners. formula1.com calls it one of the most physically demanding circuits on the calendar, with a bumpy surface and humid conditions; for spectators, that humidity is worth planning for too. formula1.com suggests the Turn 1 grandstand for the start and the braking zone into Turns 2 and 3.
As a trip, Singapore is straightforward: the circuit is in the city centre, Promenade and Nicoll Highway MRT stations are next to circuit entry points, and many Marina Bay hotels are within walking distance, according to the official F1 ticket store. Demand is high: the promoter reported a sold-out weekend in 2026 and says 2027 Early Bird tickets have already sold out.
Highlights
- A night race in the city centre: F1's first night race, held in 2008, run under full floodlighting through Marina Bay.
- Turn 1: formula1.com's pick of the grandstands, with a view of the start and the hard braking into Turns 2 and 3.
- The skyline: cars pass directly beneath the towers of the financial district, according to the official F1 ticket store.
- Entertainment zones: the promoter stages concerts across the circuit park; in 2026 these included a floating Barge Stage in Zone 1 and a Waterside area in Zone 4.
- The Singapore Flyer: the observation wheel overlooks the permanent pits complex, and formula1.com suggests a ride to get the lay of the land.
Where to stay for Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix
- Marina Bay: the circuit runs through the district, and the official F1 ticket store says it's walkable from many Marina Bay hotels. Rooms here put you closest to the gates.
- Civic District and City Hall: City Hall MRT station gives access to the Padang zone, according to the official F1 ticket store, and formula1.com notes that trains from City Hall have run later than usual on race nights.
- Elsewhere on the MRT: Singapore's MRT reaches most of the city, so a hotel on a line to Promenade, Nicoll Highway or City Hall works well.
The promoter also sells trackside hospitality packages for 2027 through its official site. Its ticketing terms don't allow resale through unauthorised agents.

Getting there & around on event days
From the UK: fly to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The official F1 ticket store says the journey from Changi to the circuit takes about 35 minutes by MRT. Check airlines for current routes from the UK.
Entry: British citizens can visit Singapore without a visa for tourism, according to GOV.UK; the period of stay is set by the immigration officer, normally between 30 and 90 days. Your passport needs 6 months' validity from the day you arrive, and you must complete the electronic SG Arrival Card in the 3 days before you arrive.
On race days:
- MRT: Promenade and Nicoll Highway stations are next to circuit entry points, and City Hall station serves the Padang zone (official F1 ticket store). Most gates are within walking distance of an MRT station, and the recommended gates for your seat are printed on your ticket.
- Paying: the MRT is cashless; contactless bank cards, phones and watches are accepted, according to formula1.com. Eating or drinking on trains or in stations can bring a fine of up to S$500.
- Leaving: expect congestion as everyone leaves at once. At a recent edition (formula1.com, 2024), trains from City Hall ran until 00:30 on Friday and Saturday and 00:45 on Sunday; 2027 arrangements haven't been published.

Tickets & entry
Tickets are sold by the promoter, Singapore GP, on its official ticket page. On 29 October 2026 it said 2027 Early Bird tickets had sold out and that regular tickets go on sale from 10am on 11 November 2026 (Singapore time). Hospitality packages for 2027 were already on sale, and the F1 ticket store on formula1.com also has a waitlist.
Tickets are sold for grandstands and hospitality, each with its own zone access, so check which zones your ticket covers before you buy. Prices are in Singapore dollars and include GST.
The promoter says unauthorised resale is not allowed, including on marketplaces such as Carousell, eBay and Viagogo, and that tickets identified as resold can be cancelled without compensation. Its official reseller list was under review at the time of checking, with an update due in mid-November.
Practical tips & etiquette
Book on time: the promoter reported a sold-out weekend in 2026, and 2027 Early Bird tickets have already sold out. Regular tickets go on sale on 11 November 2026.
Heat and humidity: formula1.com describes the conditions at Marina Bay as humid, even at night. Drink plenty of water and wear light clothing.
Comfortable shoes: formula1.com says the event grounds cover an area roughly equivalent to 80 football pitches.
Your gate: the recommended entry gates are printed on your ticket; use the official Singapore GP app for wayfinding around the circuit.
Alcohol rules: GOV.UK notes that drinking alcohol in public places, other than licensed venues, is illegal in Singapore between 10:30pm and 7am. Drug laws are severe, and you can be tested on arrival.
Noise: F1 cars are loud, so ear protection is sensible, especially for children.
Bags and prohibited items: the 2027 list hasn't been published; check the official site or app before you go. Expect bag checks at the gates.
Accessibility
The promoter sells tickets for two wheelchair-accessible platforms: the Empress Wheelchair Accessible Platform and the Turn 1 Wheelchair Accessible Platform, with single-day and 3-day options. These are bought by phone on +65 6200 3000, not online. For other questions, use the ticketing team's online form on the official ticket page.
No further spectator accessibility details for 2027 (companion tickets, drop-off points) had been published at the time of checking.
Safety & travel advice
The FCDO doesn't advise against travel to Singapore. It says terrorist attacks can't be ruled out and that violent crime and theft are rare, but online and phone scams are common. Laws are strict: drug offences carry severe penalties, and drunk and disorderly behaviour isn't tolerated. Its page also notes possible flight disruption on routes affected by the situation in the Middle East.
- Before you go, read the UK government's FCDO travel advice for Singapore (entry requirements, safety and local laws).
