Skiing & terrain
This is beginner heaven, with gentle, wide nursery slopes and some of the best ski schools in the country.
Intermediates have a handful of pleasant blues and easier reds to cruise, though the terrain stays gentle.
Advanced skiers will find little to test them; Donovaly is not built for steep or challenging skiing.

How to get there
Poprad (POP) is the packet gateway to the east; Bratislava and Vienna are common longer-haul alternatives, with Banská Bystrica the nearest city.
Access is unusually easy, as the resort sits directly on the main road over the saddle between Banská Bystrica and Ružomberok, requiring no long side-valley drive.
Best time: January and February offer the coldest, most reliable snowmaking conditions on the exposed saddle.
