Après & vibe
Après and lodging lean on the town of Ružomberok below, with its everyday Slovak restaurants and pubs rather than a purpose-built resort scene.
The resort
Malinô Brdo, often signposted as Ski Park Ružomberok, is a compact, welcoming resort in northern Slovakia whose great convenience is a gondola that lifts skiers straight from the edge of Ružomberok town up to the slopes. The terrain is mid-mountain and forgiving, a spread of red and blue runs on the ridge of the Veľká Fatra range that suits families, beginners and intermediates far more than experts. Good snowmaking backs up a reliable central-European winter, and the town base means affordable lodging, dining and easy logistics. It is a straightforward, good-value day-and-weekend mountain rather than a glamorous destination.

Skiing & terrain
Gentle upper-mountain nursery runs make it an easy place to start.
A good sweep of red cruisers along the ridge forms the heart of the skiing.
A steeper pitch or two adds a little challenge.
Limited expert terrain; this is not a mountain for serious off-piste.
Ružomberok gondola
Ride the cable car straight from the town up to the ridge, a rare town-to-slope link that makes the resort exceptionally easy to reach.
Veľká Fatra panoramas
The top of the mountain opens up sweeping views across the Veľká Fatra and Nízke Tatry ranges.
