The snow centre
Ilgaz-2 Yurduntepe Kayak Merkezi is a genuine mountain ski centre on Ilgaz Mountain in Kastamonu province, part of the forested ranges of Turkey's Western Black Sea region. Terrain runs at a healthy altitude, and the resort is served by a gondola climbing to a mid-mountain cafeteria with sweeping views over the Ilgaz peaks. Its main draw is a long slope, among the longest in the region, offering easy and intermediate pistes well suited to families, learners and improvers. A sizeable day-use building at the base provides dining, rest areas and equipment rental. Popular with skiers from Kastamonu and Çankırı, it works as both a day trip and a short ski break. Its elevation gives a solid mid-winter season.

Ankara's Esenboğa Airport is the most practical gateway, with a drive north toward Kastamonu and up onto Ilgaz.
