Konaklı Kayak Merkezi

Erzurum's wide-open cruising sector

Konaklı is the gentler, more open sector on the western side of Erzurum's ski country, sharing the same high, snow-sure mountain as neighbouring Palandöken but with wider, more forgiving pistes. It suits families and cruising intermediates looking for space and quiet.

Après & vibe

Konaklı is a quieter base than the city itself, so evenings tend to revolve around hotel restaurants and the option of heading into Erzurum, a short drive away, for traditional dining and tea houses.

The resort

Konaklı is the younger, more relaxed counterpart to steep Palandöken, set on the western shoulder of the same high massif above Erzurum. Where its famous neighbour drops away in demanding fall-line pistes, Konaklı offers broad, open runs and gentler gradients that make it a natural home for beginners and easy-going intermediates. The altitude is genuinely high, so the cold, dry snow that Erzurum is known for holds well here through a long season. The atmosphere is calm and uncrowded, with modern lifts spreading skiers across plenty of space. Together the two sectors form the heart of Turkey's eastern Anatolian ski country.

Go for wide, confidence-building slopes, high dependable snow and a peaceful atmosphere, with the steeper terrain of Palandöken next door when you want to step up. It is especially good for families, first-timers and intermediates who value space over challenge.

The mountain feels open and airy, its broad pistes catching plenty of light. Cold continental air keeps the snow dry and squeaky underfoot, and because the slopes are less steep than Palandöken's, they stay approachable even when conditions are firm.

Reliable. The same high altitude and cold, dry eastern Anatolian climate that serve Palandöken give Konaklı dependable natural snow through a long winter, supported by snowmaking.

Skiing & terrain

Beginners

Wide, gentle slopes make this one of the better places in the region to learn.

Intermediates

Long, open cruisers are the mountain's mainstay and ideal for building mileage.

Advanced

Advanced skiers can link across to the steeper Palandöken sector for a sterner test.

Experts & off-piste

Experts will look beyond the groomed pistes to off-piste on the high open terrain after fresh snow.

Wide-open cruising

Konaklı's broad, gently pitched pistes give skiers room to spread out and find a rhythm. On a quiet weekday it can feel like you have the mountain almost to yourself.

Two sectors in one trip

Because Konaklı and Palandöken share the same massif, a single stay lets you mix gentle cruising on one side with steeper, more demanding descents on the other.

High, cold and quiet

The altitude delivers dry, cold snow, while the relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere makes for stress-free days out, a contrast to busier resorts elsewhere.
