Après & vibe
Après is quiet and rustic, based in simple mountain cabanas and in the town of Caransebeș below rather than any lively resort strip.
The resort
Muntele Mic, whose name means simply the Little Mountain, is a modest resort perched on a high plateau in the Țarcu range of the Banat, above the town of Caransebeș. It is an unhurried, traditional place, popular with Romanian skiers from Timișoara and the surrounding region rather than international crowds. The terrain is gentle and open, well suited to families and improving skiers who value peace and good value over lift-served scale. Its elevation gives it fairly reliable cold-season snow for a Romanian resort, and the wide, treeless upper slopes carry a bright, airy feel. Facilities are simple, and that low-key, old-world character is much of the appeal.
