Pooladkaf is a genuine mountain ski resort set high in the Zagros range of Fars province in southern Iran, in the Sepidan district and reachable from the historic city of Shiraz. Sitting well above 2,800 metres, it is one of Iran's larger and better-known ski areas outside the Alborz range around Tehran, with a gondola climbing from the base and a hotel at the resort. The terrain suits beginners through to confident intermediates, with the appeal of clear, sunny high-altitude days over dramatic mountain scenery. As a southern resort, its snow depends on winter storms tracking across the Zagros, giving a mid-winter-focused season. Beyond skiing, the resort turns to summer mountain activities once the snow melts.
