The snow centre
Rudnik Tršće is a genuine little mountain ski area on Rudnik hill above the village of Tršće, in the quiet, heavily forested Gorski Kotar region of inland Croatia near the town of Čabar. It offers a couple of maintained alpine runs served by a drag lift, plus marked cross-country loops and a children's lift, all run at a friendly community scale. The setting is a picturesque, little-visited northern corner of Gorski Kotar, and the on-site chalet-style hospitality adds to the homely feel. As a modest, relatively low hill, its skiing depends on natural winter snow and the season can be short. It suits families, beginners and cross-country skiers rather than those chasing big descents.
The slope
Well suited, with easy runs and a dedicated children's lift.
A short longer run gives a little more to work with.
Limited vertical means advanced skiers soon run out of challenge.
Not an expert venue; consider cross-country instead.

Alongside the short downhill runs there are marked cross-country trails threading the surrounding beech forest.
