Après & vibe
The wider Ovifat and Robertville area has cafes, walking trails and lakeside spots, giving the day a relaxed touristy feel.
The snow centre
This is a genuine outdoor ski hill rather than a dome or dry slope, laid out on the southern edge of the High Fens plateau near Robertville and Reinhardstein Castle. It is modest and low-lying, with a green, blue and red run that suit families, first-timers and locals grabbing a few hours on the snow. Because the plateau sits below 700 metres, natural cover is patchy and increasingly short, so the centre leans on snow cannons to build and hold a base when temperatures allow. It feels more like a village winter-sports club than a resort, and it is best treated as a fun half-day rather than a skiing holiday in its own right.
The slope
Gentle green and blue runs make it a sensible place to take a first lesson.
The red run adds a little pitch but the vertical is small.
Too short and shallow to hold a stronger skier for long.
Nothing challenging here; expert skiers should look to the Alps.
Skiing beneath the High Fens
Ovifat is the only place to make lift-served downhill turns in Belgium, on the fen plateau close to Signal de Botrange.
Toboggan run and winter walks
Alongside the slope there is a toboggan run, and the surrounding nature reserve is popular for winter hiking when snow lies.
