The resort
Tornik crowns Zlatibor, the highest point of one of Serbia's most beloved mountain regions, and provides the skiing for the bustling resort town of the same name. The pisted terrain is modest and mostly intermediate, with pleasant open runs that appeal to families and cruising skiers rather than experts. Its biggest recent change is connection: the Gold Gondola now links the centre of Zlatibor directly to the slopes, turning a lively spa-and-holiday town into a base for day skiing. That gives Tornik an unusual blend of small ski area and large, year-round resort atmosphere. At around 1,100 to 1,500 metres the snow is variable, so snowmaking underpins the season.

Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is the main gateway, around three hours by road.
A drive southwest from Belgrade to Zlatibor town, from where the Gold Gondola or road links reach the Tornik slopes.
Best time: January and February offer the most reliable snow at Tornik.
