Britain's national museums are free — the British Museum, the V&A, the National Gallery, the Tates, Kelvingrove, National Museum Cardiff. On top of that: the West End and the RSC at Stratford, Edinburgh's August Fringe (the largest arts festival on Earth), Liverpool's and Manchester's music, and a gallery scene that runs from Tate St Ives to Baltic on the Tyne.
