Formula 1 races at Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes on 23–25 July 2027, with campsites at the circuit and a bus link from Verviers.
The Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix is held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, laid out through the forests and hills of the Ardennes in eastern Belgium, near the towns of Spa, Stavelot and Malmedy. formula1.com lists the 2027 race as Round 12, from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 July 2027, with practice on Friday, final practice and qualifying on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday. Session times for 2027 are still TBC.
Spa was one of the seven circuits on the first Formula 1 championship calendar in 1950. The original 1921 track used public roads between Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot; today's 7.004 km layout, redeveloped in 1979, is still the longest on the calendar. Its best-known feature is Eau Rouge and Raidillon, where cars flick left and right and climb steeply uphill. formula1.com notes that the weather can change across the lap, with rain on one part of the track and dry conditions on another.
As a venue for spectators, Spa is big and rural. General admission (Bronze) tickets let you walk the spectator areas around the circuit and use both fan zones, while Silver and Gold tickets add a numbered grandstand seat. There's no town at the gates, so most people drive and park, camp at the circuit, or travel in by shuttle bus.
As a trip from the UK, you can take Eurostar to Brussels and continue by Belgian train to Verviers, where a paid bus runs to the circuit, or drive via the Channel Tunnel. Nearby, Spa, Stavelot and Malmedy make quieter bases than Liège or Brussels.
Highlights
- Eau Rouge and Raidillon: formula1.com calls it arguably the most famous sequence of corners in the world, and picks the elevated grandstand near Eau Rouge for its view from La Source to Raidillon.
- Pouhon: formula1.com recommends the Pouhon grandstand for trackside atmosphere.
- The longest lap on the calendar: 7.004 km through the Ardennes forest, on a circuit first raced in 1921.
- Two fan zones: the Main Fan Zone near the Gold grandstands and the Les Combes Fan Zone are both included with every ticket, according to the circuit's FAQ; the 2027 music line-up will be announced in the months before the race.
- Camping at the circuit: quieter family-friendly Yellow, livelier Green and the Young Village with DJs on some evenings, sold by the circuit alongside motorhome and glamping pitches.
Where to stay for Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix
- Campsites at the circuit: the circuit sells Yellow (the quietest, recommended for families and holders of Gold, Silver 1 and Silver 2 tickets), Green (livelier, near Les Combes) and the Young Village (near Blanchimont), plus motorhome and glamping pitches. Weekend campers can stay from Thursday morning to Monday morning. Pitches have showers and toilets but no electricity, take up to 5 people, and need an admission ticket as well.
- Spa, Stavelot and Malmedy: small Ardennes towns around the circuit, with hotels and holiday homes; the circuit's partner list includes hotels in Francorchamps and Stavelot and the tourist offices of Spa and Malmedy. You'll need a car, a taxi or a lift on race days.
- Verviers: the nearest railway station to the circuit, with the paid TEC shuttle bus from Verviers-Central station.
- Liège or Brussels: far more hotel choice and easy rail links. At the latest edition the circuit's City Shuttles ran from both cities (Liège-Guillemins and Brussels-Midi/North), but these are long day trips.
The circuit also lists partner accommodation further out, including Center Parcs Les Ardennes and properties in Durbuy, and a hotel travel package with bus transfers.

Getting there & around on event days
From the UK by train: Eurostar runs direct from London St Pancras International to Brussels-Midi/Zuid in about two hours. From Brussels, Belgian trains (SNCB) run to Verviers-Central, the nearest station to the circuit. The circuit says SNCB sells an Event Train Ticket with 40% off a return from any Belgian station to Verviers-Central, only through sncb.be/spagrandprix.
From the UK by car: LeShuttle carries cars from Folkestone to Calais in 35 minutes, and from there you drive across northern France and Belgium. The circuit says to follow signs for "Spa Grand Prix" from the E42 motorway; Waze is set up with the event routes, car parks and campsites. FCDO notes that Belgian police use speed traps and cameras and that speeding can bring an on-the-spot fine.
Flying: the nearest passenger airport is Liège Airport (LGG), about 15 minutes from Liège city centre according to the airport; Brussels Airport (BRU) is the main international airport. Check airlines for routes from the UK, then continue by train or car.
On race days (from the circuit's current FAQ; 2027 arrangements aren't fully confirmed):
- Car parks: tickets are sold only on the official site, at €25 a day. Car parks open 6am to 10pm Friday to Sunday and must be emptied each night; cars left behind are towed. There is no kiss and ride area. Motorcycle parking is €20 a day.
- Bus from Verviers-Central: a paid TEC shuttle runs from outside the station to Rue de Sart in Francorchamps, from about 7.30am to 1pm, returning from about 4.30pm to 7.30pm. The circuit lists tickets at €45 from Friday (valid 3 days), €30 from Saturday and €15 on Sunday, sold at the TEC office at the station. Regular TEC buses 294 and 395 also serve the circuit, but not on Sunday.
- City Shuttles: the circuit runs paid return coaches from Brussels, Liège, Charleroi, Namur, Mons, Antwerp, Lille, Luxembourg, Maastricht, Aachen, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Eindhoven, arriving at about 9am and leaving at about 7pm. The FAQ still gives the running dates as 17–19 July 2027, which doesn't match the 2027 race weekend, and City Shuttle tickets are currently unavailable, so treat the details as provisional until the circuit updates them.
- Bike: cyclists can use the bike park at the Blanchimont entrance without a ticket; if you bring your bike by car, a Park & Ride ticket gives access to a car park about 5 km away, linked to the circuit by the RAVeL cycle path.

Tickets & entry
Tickets are sold by the promoter, Spa Grand Prix, on the official site, spagrandprix.com, and 2027 tickets were on sale when this page was checked. Bronze tickets are general admission to the walk-around spectator areas and both fan zones; Silver and Gold tickets add a numbered seat in a grandstand you choose when you buy. Weekend tickets cover Friday to Sunday, and some areas also sell single days. At the time of checking a 3-day Bronze ticket was €215, and a €20 administration fee is added to your first order. Several grandstands were already sold out for some days.
Children aged 6 to 12 pay a reduced rate; children under 6 get in free but have no seat of their own. Tickets are personal: you name each one before you download it. The promoter's terms forbid reselling tickets or buying them from third parties for commercial purposes, except through companies it has authorised; tickets bought in breach of this give no right of entry and can be cancelled.
Practical tips & etiquette
Plan your transport: car parking, camping and City Shuttle tickets are sold only online, not at the gates. Car parks are emptied every night, so you can't leave a car overnight unless you're camping.
Cards and cash: food and drink stands take credit cards (not American Express), debit cards and the circuit's cashless cards; cash can only be used to buy cashless cards. There are no cash machines at the circuit; the nearest are in Spa, Stavelot and Malmedy. There's no wifi on site.
What you can bring: your own food and non-alcoholic drinks in sealed plastic bottles, empty reusable bottles (there are more than 25 water points), cameras for personal use, small flags, pushchairs and wheelchairs. Not allowed: alcohol, glass, opened plastic bottles, tents (outside the campsites), parasols, flags on poles, ladders, barbecues, drones, smoke flares, bikes and scooters, and animals other than guide and assistance dogs (tell the organiser in advance).
Opening hours: the circuit's FAQ gives gates opening at 7am on Friday and 6am on Saturday and Sunday, with closing at 10pm on Friday, 9pm on Saturday and 8pm on Sunday; check again nearer the race.
Weather: formula1.com notes that it can be raining on one part of the circuit and dry on another. Pack a waterproof and sun protection: parasols are banned and most grandstands are uncovered (the circuit lists Gold 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 and Silver 4 as covered).
Noise: F1 cars are loud, so ear protection is sensible, especially for children; the circuit says earplugs are sold in the F1 shops on site.
Campers: no departures from the campsites are allowed on Sunday between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.
Accessibility
The circuit has two platforms for people with reduced mobility: PRM Source, next to the Gold 7 grandstand near La Source, and PRM Chicane, at the foot of the covered Gold 11 grandstand. Each has a wheelchair ramp and a chair for a companion. They're reserved for people with a disabled person's parking card (blue badge), and the 3-day packages include a ticket for the disabled person, a ticket for a companion and a space in the dedicated PRM car park; at the time of checking they cost €795 (Source) and €990 (Chicane).
Adapted toilets are provided only around the two PRM platforms, and the campsites have no adapted showers or toilets. The circuit warns that areas away from the platforms and the PRM car park will be difficult to reach for people with reduced mobility. Guide and assistance dogs are allowed if you tell the organiser in advance. For questions, use the circuit's contact page or call +32 87 22 44 66.
Safety & travel advice
The FCDO doesn't advise against travel to Belgium. It says terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Belgium, including at sporting events and transport hubs, and the national threat level is 3 ('Serious'), so expect a visible police presence and bag checks. National strikes, which can affect trains and flights, may be announced at short notice: check before you travel. Smoke flares and distress flares are banned at the circuit.
- Before you go, read the UK government's FCDO travel advice for Belgium (entry requirements, safety and local laws).
