The resort
The town of Kupres sits on a wide, exposed plateau in the Dinaric Alps, a spot with a local reputation for heavy, dependable snow when much of the region is bare. Its ski slopes, branded Čajuša and AdriaSki, are gentle and compact, geared to families, beginners and cruising intermediates rather than serious skiers. What makes Kupres unusual is its proximity to the Adriatic: it is one of the closest snow to the Dalmatian coast, drawing day-trippers up from Split. The atmosphere is quiet and rural, with simple lodging and warm Bosnian hospitality. The plateau's cold, snowy microclimate underpins a solid mid-winter season.

How to get there
Split Airport (SPU) on the Croatian coast is the nearest handy gateway, around two hours away, with Sarajevo (SJJ) a further alternative.
A scenic drive inland from the coast up onto the Kupres plateau, best done by car or arranged transfer.
Best time: January and February deliver the deepest, most reliable snow on the plateau.
