The snow centre
Kütioru Centre is a modest outdoor ski and leisure area tucked into the Kütiorg valley, reputed to be Estonia's deepest, within the rolling upland of Haanja Nature Park near Võru. Like all Baltic skiing, the vertical is gentle: short slopes and simple lifts backed up by extensive snowmaking so the season can stretch into spring. It is a real hillside rather than an indoor or plastic venue, but a small one, built for families, beginners and day-trippers rather than serious skiers. The centre doubles as a year-round holiday base with accommodation, a cafe and summer activities on the valley lake and trails. It suits a relaxed winter outing in one of Estonia's prettiest corners more than anyone seeking length or challenge.
The slope
Well suited to first-timers and children on gentle, groomed slopes.
A few short runs for easy cruising rather than a full day's variety.
