The snow centre
Kuutsemäe is a compact outdoor ski centre in the hills around Otepää, a district often called Estonia's winter capital. On modest Baltic terrain, it offers a spread of floodlit runs of varying difficulty, a dedicated children's slope and a snowboard park, all held together by snowmaking that props up the naturally thin cover. It is short on vertical but well organised and friendly, making it a popular weekend base for Estonian families, learners and freestylers rather than a destination for big-mountain skiers. A guesthouse and cabins on site let visitors stay over. Nearby Otepää is a hub for cross-country skiing, which many combine with a day on the slopes here.
