The resort
Seli occupies the broad, treeless plateau of Mount Vermio, and its history as one of Greece's earliest ski areas gives it a nostalgic, homely character. The terrain is gentle and open, a rolling expanse of easy pistes that suit families, children and first-timers far more than thrill-seekers. It is very much a local, day-trip mountain, popular with skiers from Veria, Naoussa and Thessaloniki rather than international visitors. Being a Mediterranean-Greek area at moderate altitude, its snow is weather-dependent and the season can be short and variable. On a good cold weekend, though, it is a cheerful, unpretentious place to enjoy the snow.

How to get there
