Χιονοδρομικό Κέντρο Καλαβρύτων, Kalavrita Ski Resort

Perched on the slopes of Mount Helmos, one of the higher massifs of the Peloponnese, Kalavryta is among the most popular ski centres in southern Greece thanks to its relative proximity to Athens. The skiing is straightforward and sociable, well suited to families and weekenders, with wide-open runs and long views over the mountains of the region. Much of its charm lies below the snow line, in the atmospheric town of Kalavryta with its poignant history and the famous Odontotos rack railway that climbs the Vouraikos Gorge. Sitting at a good altitude by Greek standards it holds snow reasonably well, though the Mediterranean climate still brings variable seasons. It operates through the Greek winter, broadly December to March.
