Après & vibe

A mountain shelter and restaurant at the base offer refreshments with the Aegean laid out below.

The snow centre

The Agriolefkes ski centre sits high on Mount Pelion above the city of Volos in Thessaly, one of Greece's most scenic small ski areas. This is a genuine outdoor mountain venue, not an artificial slope, with a handful of pistes and a cross-country trail winding through beech forest. Its signature is the panorama: from around 1,500 metres skiers look out over both the Aegean Sea and the Pagasetic Gulf, a rare coast-and-mountain combination. It best suits beginners, families and Greeks on a weekend outing rather than those chasing big verticals. As a Mediterranean area at modest altitude, its season is short and variable, dependent on the winter's snowfalls.

Sea-and-mountain panorama
