Après & vibe
Mountain-restaurant huts serve the slopes, and Kolašin town below offers traditional Montenegrin taverns and lodges.
The snow centre
Kolašin 1600 is a genuine outdoor ski area set on the slopes of the Bjelasica massif in central Montenegro, reached from the mountain town of Kolašin below. Its base sits high, giving decent natural snow through the heart of winter across pistes that suit families and cruising skiers, with the pine forests and rugged Bjelasica peaks all around. This is a small, good-value mountain area rather than a large international resort, quieter and more relaxed than the Alps and increasingly linked with the neighbouring higher terrain of the range. Kolašin town, with its stone houses and traditional restaurants, gives the area a warm base. It suits skiers looking for uncrowded slopes and Balkan mountain character.
The slope
Gentle runs near the base make it welcoming for learners and families.
Cruising pistes through the forest are the area's strength.
Some steeper mountain terrain and off-piste appear in good snow.
Modest lift-served scope, though the wider Bjelasica range tempts ski-tourers.
Skiing the Bjelasica
Forested runs and open mountain views on one of Montenegro's principal ranges, well away from the alpine crowds.
