The resort
Krasiya lies in Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia), in the far west of Ukraine close to the Slovak and Polish borders, and is best known for its unusually long, continuous fall-line descent for such a modest area. It is a simple, uncommercial resort with only a few lifts and basic facilities, drawing regional skiers and the occasional cross-border visitor rather than large crowds. Snow in these Carpathian mountains is reasonable in a cold winter but variable, and infrastructure is minimal. The atmosphere is quiet and authentic, appealing to skiers who value character and a big vertical over polish and amenities. As with all of Ukraine, wartime conditions currently complicate access and should be checked before travelling.

How to get there
In normal times the nearest usable international gateways lie just across the border, such as Košice in Slovakia; Ukrainian airspace is currently closed, so access is overland.
