Après & vibe

The village of Pylypets has guesthouses, cafés and traditional Carpathian hospitality at the foot of the slopes.

The snow centre

Pylypets is a genuine mountain ski area in Ukraine's Transcarpathian (Zakarpattia) region, one of the more popular resorts of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Skiing spreads across the slopes of Mount Gymba in the Borzhava massif, reached by a long chairlift that climbs high above the old village of Pylypets. This is real outdoor mountain skiing with a mix of runs down the open ridge, suited to a broad range from families to keen intermediates. The village setting, with its guesthouses and the well-known Shypit waterfall nearby, gives the area a distinctly Carpathian character. At a moderate Carpathian altitude the season is a normal mountain winter, with cover depending on the year's snowfall.

The slope

Beginners

Gentler runs and a village learning area suit those starting out.

Intermediates

The Gymba slopes offer enjoyable longer descents for intermediates.

Advanced

Some steeper pitches and off-piste for stronger skiers when snow allows.

Experts & off-piste

Limited dedicated expert terrain.

The Gymba chairlift

A long chairlift rises from the village high onto Mount Gymba in the Borzhava range, the backbone of the ski area and a fine ridge-top viewpoint.

Shypit waterfall

The nearby Shypit waterfall is a well-known local landmark, adding a scenic outing to a stay in Pylypets.
