Après & vibe

Village guesthouses and Carpathian taverns in Slavske below provide hearty local food and a warm après feel.

The snow centre

Slavske - Menchil is a genuine outdoor ski area on the flanks of Menchil (Menchul) mountain, one of the slopes rising above the Carpathian village of Slavske in western Ukraine's Lviv region. Slavske is among Ukraine's oldest and best-known ski villages, and the Menchil side offers natural-snow pistes cut through spruce forest, served by lifts and rising to open mountain above the treeline. It is a modest, good-value area rather than a polished resort, with a relaxed local feel and the timber houses and mountain hospitality of the Carpathians below. Cold Carpathian winters give a reasonable season, though as an outdoor area it depends on the year's snowfall. It suits skiers after unpretentious mountain terrain and Ukrainian mountain character.

The slope

Beginners

Gentler lower runs give learners a place to start.

Intermediates

Forest-lined pistes offer the area's most enjoyable cruising.

Advanced

Steeper upper sections and off-piste appear when snow is deep.

Experts & off-piste

Lift-served scope is limited, but the surrounding Carpathian ridges draw ski-tourers.

Skiing Slavske's slopes

Turns on one of Ukraine's classic Carpathian ski mountains, forested runs opening to broad ridge-top views.
