The snow centre
Nagyvillám Sípálya sits on a wooded hillside above the historic town of Visegrád, overlooking one of Hungary's great landscapes, the sweeping curve of the Danube. It is a genuine outdoor slope but a small and gentle one, wide and lightly pitched so that beginners and families make up most of its clientele. Snow cannons and night lighting stretch a naturally short and unpredictable Central-European lowland season, and there are toboggan and snow-tubing options alongside the main run. With Budapest little more than an hour away, it works best as an easy winter day trip rather than a holiday base. The panorama over the Upper Castle and the river is the real prize.
